Sorelmetal®, a high purity pig iron produced by Rio Tinto and also known in the iron casting industry as “Quebec pig iron,” has stable components thanks to a signature production method, making it a superior raw material for ductile cast iron. This is quality pig iron that is highly pure, available in a steady supply, and contains minimal Mn. Its bonus effects include reduced power consumption for melting, chill prevention and improved shrinkage thanks to promoting graphitization of molten metal, improved casting yield, and prevention of defects. We are the designated Japanese vendor that supplies Sorelmetal® to customers in Japan.
